Choosing the right hosting company for your bussiness

There are many types of web hosting services that are offered by hosting companies. It is very important to choose the one that best suits your needs and budget.

Types of web hosting services:

Free Hosting: this type of hosting is free, but usually places ads in your pages. Free hosting is very limited and provides only the minimal resources

Shared hosting: many websites can be placed on one physical web server. Usually it ranges from several hundred to thousands domains per server. All the websites share the same servers’ resources such as: disk space, memory and CPU. This is the cheapest type of paid web hosting.

Reseller hosting: allows its customers to divide hosting resources into smaller parts and resell them to other clients or use them for different web sites. The reseller hosting customer becomes web hosting provider.

Virtual Private Server (VPS): one server is divided into several virtual servers and custumer is given full admin access to virtual server. This is simillar to dedicated server, but costs less.

Dedicated Server: client leases an entire web server, which is not shared with anyone else. Customer also gets full control of it and can choose its operating system, software and even hardware.

Colocation hosting: this is similar to dedicated server, only client owns its server. Customer is provided with a physical place, including internet access and electrical facilities for the server in the datacenter. This is the most powerful and expensive type of hosting.

Clustered hosting: very large websites may be running on several web servers, which provides load balancing and better security.
